Tax payers are in relief from this years budget Mr. Pranav Mukherjee declares the india budget today in which the Maximum Exemption limit (MEL) of Tax has been increased by 20000 i.e. the Rs 1,80,000 and also many exemptions for senior citizens but women are exempt from all this. Highlights of Budget February 28, 2011: Income Tax exemption limit raised to Rs 1.80 lakh from Rs 1.60 lakh . Exemption for senior citizens raised to Rs 2.5 lakh Tax under women slab unchanged. Tax exemption raised to Rs 5 lakh for senior citizens of 80 years. To increase service tax on air travel Excise and customs duty proposals to result in the net gain of Rs 7,300 crore. Export duty rates on iron ore unified and kept at 20% ad valorem. New Avatar of Kabari Bazar- MCD is building a Market place under a flyover on ring road near IGI Stadium where it will Relaocate its Vendors

New Delhi: Extremely popular for its cheap garments and second hand utilities, the Kabari Bazaar that used to come alive every Sunday outside the Red Fort is now going to be recreated as a Model Sunday Bazaar under the Ring Road bypass flyover next to the Indira Gandhi Stadium complex. To make way for this Sunday market and the 1,167 authorized vendors who have evolved with the bazaar, the Delhi government is planning to sign a memorandum of understanding with trade union body Self-Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) which works with street vendors and women. At a meeting with chief minister Sheila Dikhit, SEWA made a presentation on the evolution of the market and its vendors from the days when it was the Kabari Bazaar. The presentation went on to explain its growth and decay through the different phases when it was known as the Lal Quila Bazaar and then the Velodrome Sunday bazaar.
